McDaniel, Breanna J.: - Breanna J. McDaniel is the author of picture books, Hands Up! and Impossible Moon. A proud alumna of Emory University and Simmons University, she holds a Ph.D. from Cambridge University, where she focused her research on surveillance and respectability politics in representations of Black children as food in contemporary picture books. She lives in Atlanta.
