Biogema Hemoglobin test for occult bleeding

Descriere

Colon and rectal cancer is one of the most common types of oncological diseases. Its incidence is constantly increasing and it most often affects people over the age of 45. 10% of the population has polyps - growths in the intestinal mucosa and anus. Up to 1% of them are malignant, and polyps larger than 0.5 cm bleed permanently due to constant irritation. A warning signal for detecting the disease is blood in the stool, which is imperceptible to the eye in the initial stage. The determination of human hemoglobin in this hidden (occult) bleeding in the stool with the help of this test is a simple and reliable screening exam for colorectal cancers - bowel and rectal cancer. PRINCIPLE The method uses a combination of a conjugate (monoclonal antibody - dye) and a polyclonal antibody bound to a solid phase to identify hemoglobin in the test sample with high sensitivity and specificity. In this test, the sample is drawn into a solution, which is then dropped into the window marked with an arrow on the test plate. V zorka floats along the membrane, while the labeled conjugate forms an antigen-antibody complex with the hemoglobin antigen (if present in the sample). This complex binds to the antibody located in the T-positive reaction zone and forms a dark red line. If there is no antibody in the complex, no colored line will form in window T. The reaction mixture flows further into the control zone C. The unreacted conjugate binds in the control zone, where it forms a dark red line, demonstrating that the test was performed correctly.
