Look at the U.S.A. A Diary of War and Home

Descriere

Look at the U.S.A. is a powerful photographic odyssey by Magnum photographer Peter van Agtmael, chronicling the complex evolution of post-9/11 America over two decades. Through 186 evocative color illustrations and personal memoir, van Agtmael juxtaposes the raw realities of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with the domestic tensions of nationalism, race, and class at home. By deconstructing the mythologizing of conflict and the disconnect between the front lines and the home front, this seminal photobook offers a damning, layered critique of the American psyche from the mid-2000s to the present day.
