Vegas like you've never seen, tales you've never heard--until nowThose were the days when you drove to Vegas from Iowa or Ohio or took a junket flight from New York. The Missus would wear her best dress and mink coat, find her lucky slot machine, and you the hot craps table. Maybe you'd slip the maître d' a couple bucks to sit at an A table in the showroom for the big production numbers with showgirls and plenty of feathers and not much else. Or you'd get to see Elvis at the International or Sinatra at the Sands. n- Those were the days when Mob guys with names like Icepick and Blade, Tony and Longie, carried suitcases of money out the back door of the casinos. n- When leggy showgirls paraded nearly nude and boobs were on display during flashy stage productions. n- When Binion's Horseshoe boasted about their legendary high-stakes poker games (and the famous game that was never played with Nick the Greek)-and launched the World Series of Poker. n- When brothels flourished on ranches just miles from the Strip and sex was on the menu (exclusive interview with Tiffany who worked at the Bunny Ranch). n- When Teamsters' money built Caesars Palace and Circus Circus, and the Imperial Palace had a lot more going on than a car collection. When Frank or Sammy or Zsa Zsa or Barbra or Elvis . . . nThose were the days--all chronicled in 21 unforgettable stories and vintage photos told as only Las Vegas historian Steve Fischer can tell-about those days when the Mob ran Vegas. n nProfanity and suggestive nudity.
