Descriere

This title deals with the art of folding, adorning and embellishing. A fascinating introduction charts the story of napery, its etiquette and fashions, followed by inspirational projects for folding, decorating and embellishing napkins. It includes styles and looks to suit every design theme and table concept, from a simple summery blue-and-white outdoor meal to shimmering flower-adorned napkins for a wedding. It shows you how to make all the classical napkin folds: turn a crisp square of damask into the Cable, the French Lily, the Cockscomb, the Mitre, the Double Swan and more. It includes step-by-step projects throughout with easy-to-follow diagrams for all the folds while 250 stunning photographs show how to create and style the designs and how to develop your own ideas. Here are fabulous table-setting ideas that make the most of the napkin's potential. Using ribbons, trims, flowers and ornamentation, this collection of projects includes innovative and beautiful ways to roll, fold, trim, knot, embroider and decorate napkins. Ideas for displaying napkins include the simple and the complex: take a few moments to wrap a ribbon around a softly rolled napkin, or carefully create a classic napkin fold in crisp white linen. Throughout the book the stunning photography shows you how to turn an ordinary eating event into something special, with ideas for picnics, parties, feasts and festivals, as well as sophisticated suggestions to suit your menu. This glorious book inspires a fresh look at the square of fabric that, with thought and creativity, can convey such style.
