The Spring Garden

Descriere

Spring is one of the most beautiful and most appreciated seasons in the gardening calendar, beginning with the shy emergence of the first few spring bulbs and ending with a riot of colour when early flowering perennials, climbers and shrubs are at their best. All the main spring flowering and foliage plants and trees are illustrated here, with descriptions and information on size and spread, suitable growing conditions and hardiness ratings. Discover how these plants can be used to best effect in the garden, both as single plantings and as part of an overall scheme. This includes planting in beds and borders, and also in a variety of containers, and features a range of garden styles from minimalist, through wild and cottage, to formal designs. At the back of the book, there is a useful list of essential jobs that need to be tackled in the spring to ensure the garden looks its best now and for the coming seasons. For a personal touch, there is also space for the reader to catalogue additional tasks particular to their own garden.
