VetAria+ Skin and Coat is an adjuvant in the treatment of skin conditions (dermatoses, alopecia, pruritus or any allergic manifestation), to maintain optimal health of the skin, mucous membranes and coat. Atopic dermatitis is a genetic predisposition to allergic, inflammatory and pruritic skin. The prevalence of the disease is estimated at 5-25% of the canine population. In dogs, the disease was considered to be caused primarily by immunological dysregulation and genetic predisposition, but recent studies support the presence of abnormalities in the epidermal barrier that may also influence the development of the disease. In dogs, abnormal structure and composition of the intracellular lipid stratum corneum have been reported in many cases of atopic dermatitis, and transepidermal water loss has also been observed, which may increase inflammation and severity of the disease.
