A highly practical book that shares the lessons of Jack Welch’s hugely successful career as a great chief executive and manager. Jack Welch is an icon in American business. During his 20 year reign as CEO of General Electric, which ended in 2001, GE stock increased in value by $400 billion. And thanks to Welch’s revered position as one of the top leaders in Corporate America for decades, he is still viewed as a role model to generations of managers searching for excellence at companies around the world. Building on the success of his first book about his career at GE, Welch’s second book will be a more practical, how-to handbook, written specifically for his fans who have been asking him for business advice when he makes public appearances. Welch will teach people how to win in business by distilling his experience in three critical areas: working within an organization, dealing with competitors and managing one's personal life with a career. And Welch is a master teacher. For years, communicating his credo has been part of his management success story: he was a constant professor to GE employees at Crotonville, GE’s in-house university in Westchester county.
